From 3 to 1

Here's my Cyclops. I like it a lot better than the Tri-ops.

Pumpkin design #1.

Not cool enough. I'm thinking of a cyclops and will probably draw that tomorrow.

Kind of Cheating

Didn't draw anything today but I did carve two pumkins. The skull is not my design but I did freehand draw it on the pumpkin instead of tracing the paper.  So . . . yeah.   Now I'm thinking I have to do some Halloween drawings. Ooo! Maybe it could be Halloween week! (Sound of cackling)

Night all.

Trouble in Paradise

Knife is doing his best, but the relationship might be over.

The dishwasher broke down so I had to do the dishes by hand. Grrr.

A test for video uploading. Enjoy.

Another Self Portrait

Update on my assassin. His first name is Erlösung. It means redemption. Neat, huh?

Not Yorick

Quick skull done from a Halloween decoration. Eh.

If I can stick with this for a little longer, I think I might get some kind of WACOM device.  I think it would also help if I end up doing a web comic. Here's hoping. :)

Sweet, sweet Digits

Another hand. Trying to incorporate some cloth layers. This is from a photo, of course. Proportion seems to be good this time. :)

Brace yourself

More work on my thief. This is a bracer with poison-tipped darts in custom sheaths. I thought it would look cooler, but darts are quite a bit larger than I thought.

Looking Up

Self portrait again. My mouth/nose area got a little out of proportion.

I colored my mouse with my son's crayons and added a box for him to sit on.
Also, here's the banana that goes with the drawings from my first post.

What's New in Cheese

Recently our storage unit was used as a toilet by a member of the rodent family. This is him in the process of his dooties (get it?) Eventually I want to put this in a strip where I walk in on him and he shouts out, "Someone's in here!" And I then close the door embarrassed and confused. I also realize that I misspelled squeak, but I already scanned it so I didn't change it.

I had a really interesting dream that I was an agent in an Agency that deals with the paranormal. The Agency had a kind of mob mentality. In my dream one of my squad of 5 had screwed up and pissed of the leader of the agency. Our handler led us to believe we were meeting to get our next mission, but instead (due to the aforementioned squad member) he had betrayed us by sending a hit squad of 3 Frankensteins to take us out. We had no weapons so all we could do was run until we lost the beasts. Unlike the movies, the Frankensteins were very fast and of course never tired (they were, however, bright green). I tried to get the mage of our group to light them on fire, (FIRE BAD!) but she froze and was killed. I ran being chased by a Frankenstein in tight running outfit. I woke up before the conclusion but I know I lost at least 2 squad members and don't know what happened to the member that caused all this (I'm comforted by the fact the he got his hand cut off by our handler before the Frankensteins were released).

A very detailed and surprisingly memorable dream. Maybe I'll continue writing the story in my waking life. Hmm

I see you!

My eyes. My left eye is a little high, but not too bad.

More Hands

More hands practice. I wanted to try some hand positions I might later draw with regularity. This one turned out pretty good.

This one . . . not so much. I have a giant pinky. And apparently I'm wearing a tin can sleeve.

Hand practice

My hand practice for the day. Also a reference photo.

Hello, all!

Welcome to my art blog. I'm starting this because I've been feeling like I need a creative outlet lately. I've always been an art fan, especially comics of all kinds, and even had some artistic skill once upon a time. I want to get back into it and I want you all to keep me honest and give my your opinions.

My goal is to do a sketch a day, no matter how big or small, just to get something down for practice. I eventually want to start posting a web-comic here, too. I want to share the process with every one and get feedback and/or advice along the way. So please comment when you have the time.

I haven't sketched today because i just thought of this like, 10 minutes ago, but I'm gonna post some sketches I did for a t-shirt idea for threadless.com. Hope you like them and look for more to come soon. ( as in tomorrow, i guess. )

I found that I love peanut butter and banana slices on toast. I was trying to express that on a t-shirt. I haven't scanned my banana yet.
